Social Media..Keeping it Real!

Still not sure what to do with your social media platforms? Not sure what to tweet or post on your business pages?

If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you know me personally, either through networking, we worked together or you get my emails and you feel like you know me. Either way- what I know for sure is I  “Keep it Real”.   I am known for being honest and direct.

Look it’s pretty simple, which must be why I am good at this and can pass it on to you. I will share what I tell my clients that hire me for consulting.

When you are having a conversation with someone in person, how does it go? Do you only talk about you and your business? If you are …chances are you don’t have many friends and you will not be able to relate to this.

But if you are like the rest of us, there is a dialog-  How are you? I am good, how are things going with you? Hey I saw that great event that you posted last week how did it go? and so on.

Anyone who knows me has been in the line of fire with my questions..I love to hear about other peoples successes – I learn that way. It inspires me.

So you need to just translate that into your daily social media postings. Sit back and watch your “fans”, “audience” and see what interests them and act on that. Start there and let it take a natural tone. You will find ways to introduce your business or product when it’s appropriate, you will be useful to that person at that point, instead of selling them.

Do a simple Google search on “compelling questions to ask on social media?” There are 17 million sites come up. Literally.

You will get the hang of it. Just don’t stop. Keep on tweeting! Pinning and Posting. Trust me!

Tip: You don’t have to be everywhere to be heard. Pick 3 and do it well! Enjoy it- you get to build your brand, connect with people and build relationships…isn’t that why we do what we do?
